We went to a family reunion last weekend for my Dad's side of the family. Right across the street from the Community Building where we meet is a nice little park. JC and Monkey went for a little ride on the merry-go-round last summer and again this summer. I can't believe how much Monkey has grown up!

Flashback Friday
I'm sure you've seen those emails of bad family portraits. You know the ones, where everyone looks so terrible you can't help but laugh. It's usually more out of embarrassment for the sad people in the photo, but you still laugh.
I'm happy to share the worst portrait of MY family. I mean seriously, it's bad. But since today is Friday, I figured why not start off the weekend with a laugh?
Without any further ado....
This was taken in the early 80's... and sweater vests were VERY cool, thank you very much! I should also include that our mother made all of the sweaters. She is quite the talented lady. If only she would've given us our haircuts as well....

Flashback Friday
I can't explain why, or what we were thinking, but one of my best friends from high school and I liked to have our sports pictures taken in random places. We thought it was fun... we even had one taken in the school's mailbox! I'm not sure where that one is, but if I can ever find it, maybe I'll share. Here are two others though...
Don't you just love the poses? I can even remember talking about how we should do it... where our hands should be, how to do our hair, etc. Cracks me up looking back at them, but I also miss those times of carefree living and the hardest decisions we had to make were what we should do in a picture!

Flashback Friday
This is my favorite picture of all time. It's of my grandparents on my Mom's side and one of my uncles. I can't explain why I love this picture so much, but I do. It captures a moment in time that I wish I could've been a part of.
I want to know a few things... like who took the picture?
Is Grandma searching for something or just taking a walk to stretch her legs after a long ride?
What were Grandpa and Uncle discussing? Were they having a serious talk? Or making fun of Grandma's shoes?
But most of all I want to know if Grandpa was really as cool as James Dean, or did he just look like it here?
I think I'm going to have to break this photo out at Christmas and ask them. I need the answers!
Side note: Smoking is not really cool, kids. Unless the year is 1950 and you are perched on a motorcycle like so. Then yes, it is very cool.

Flashback Friday
Here is a picture of me with my siblings... we were close even back then.
Although I do look a little devious. Like I may be plotting something?

Okay, so maybe I was happy to finally have someone younger than me that could take the brunt of my older siblings torment. And as luck would have it, that meant that I had someone smaller than me that I could pick on! But I would never do that, no siree, not me.
